Our Pastor:

John and Shari Strode

Reverend John Strode is in his six years as minister and pastor at Milbrooke Christian Church.  John is a native of Barren County, where he grew up on a large family farm near Fountain Run, KY.  He is an Army Veteran with 13 months of overseas duty.  A graduate of WKU with an MA in Biology and Rank I degree in Secondary Education, John has taught high school Biology and coached football for 27 years and taught at WKU for three years.  He has completed his ministry education under the supervision of the Christian Church and with other seminary institutions. Helping young people with their lives that I have taught and coached for 27 years and now in the ministry has been, and is, my great honor and privilege.  His passion is family activities and working for the church. John is married to Shari Strode, who is a retired Special Education teacher.  They have four children (John, Ted, Julie and Alex) and nine grandchildren.

Our Choir Directors:

Millbrooke Christian Church Choir Directors Amanda Sims Groves is the choral director and keyboardist at our church. She has been a public school music educator for 12 years. She is currently the choral director at Northeast Middle School in Clarksville, Tenn. She has a Bachelor of Music Education from Murray State University and a Master in Vocal Performance from Southern Illinois University. Amanda has won several awards including the 2000 St. Louis District winner of the Metropolitan Opera's Council Competition. She has been the Artistic Director for the S. Illinois Children 's Choir and has numerous experiences singing with regional orchestras. She has recently completed recording an album of sacred music called "Sing On." J. W. Groves is the song leader and instrumentalist at our church. J. W. is considered to be one of the best fiddle players around and has had a long successful career as a musician. J. W. played in a country band at Kaintuck Territory with Steven Curtis Chapman early in his career. He has also played with the River City Band which was on the Ralph Emery Show and has opened for Ronnie Milsap. He taught industrial arts at Thompsonville High School for 20 years. He has a Bachelor degree and a Masters of Education from Murray State University. J. W. and Amanda have been married for 19 years and reside in the Olive community with their two cats.
